Job Summary
To support legal research and analysis in food and agriculture legislation, the home-based Legal Specialist in Development Law will engage in legal drafting, capacity development activities, and collaboration with national and international consultants for up to 11 months.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in drafting national and regional legislation, legal opinions, and analyses while supporting development law projects
- Contribute to the design and implementation of training and outreach activities related to legal capacity development
- Conduct research on food and agriculture law and participate in participatory legal drafting processes
Required qualifications
- Advanced university degree in Law or a relevant discipline; a PhD is considered an asset
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant practical experience, including research experience
- Working knowledge of English; knowledge of other UN languages is an asset
- Experience in legal drafting and implementing national projects is preferred
- Familiarity with food and agriculture legislation and related legal areas
