Legislative Analyst

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Legislative Analyst will summarize complex legislation and congressional actions, conduct advanced research on policy issues, and maintain accuracy while meeting strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Summarize legislation and congressional procedures in clear, concise language
• Develop expertise in assigned policy areas and stay updated on relevant news developments
• Collaborate with teammates to coordinate coverage and responsibilities, adjusting to House schedules

Required qualifications

• Prior public policy or reporting experience related to federal government or legislation
• Strong analytical, writing, and research skills with the ability to work with legislative texts
• Knowledge of the legislative process and congressional procedures, particularly for the House of Representatives
• Experience conducting objective online research on policy and congressional issues
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
