Lexicographer for African American English

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Lexicographer - ODAAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Research the history and usage of African American English words and draft dictionary entries
• Review the work of other editors to ensure editorial quality and adherence to house style
• Contribute to the development of a lexicographical model for the ODAAE and promote its work through various channels

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Good knowledge or experience of African American English
• Good knowledge of African American literature and culture
• Good knowledge of Standard American English, including syntax and grammar
• Experience using various resources for research
• Academic or practical knowledge of the history and theory of variation in English preferred
