Job Summary
To support the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Library, the remote Library Support Backend Developer will provide application software development for the Library Support System, enhance automated workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance automated workflow processing by implementing new features and updates
- Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, API interfaces, and data models
- Participate in scrums, project meetings, and ensure compliance with USDA digital standards
Required Qualifications
- 3-4 years of experience in application development using SQL Server, MySQL, Python, Django, and REST APIs
- Expert knowledge of modern application development standards and experience with legacy system modernization
- 1-2 years of experience with open-source tools and containerization technologies like Docker
- Proficiency in version control systems, particularly git and GitHub
- Practical experience in Section 508 conformance and WCAG 2.x AA compliance for ICT deliverables
