Library Technician

Job Summary

Supporting a federal scientific library, the full-time Library Technician will manage collection maintenance, circulation services, and customer support in a hybrid remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and maintain physical library materials, ensuring accurate organization and retrievability
• Perform circulation activities, including check-in, check-out, and interlibrary loan support
• Provide front-line customer service, assisting users with locating materials and accessing resources

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree from a recognized college or technical school, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of one year of relevant library, archives, or information services experience
• Experience using library systems, databases, or inventory tracking systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office software
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records
