Job Summary
Supporting client hospitals remotely, the Licensed Appeal Writer - NY will review denied insurance claims, analyze medical files, and create appeal letters while managing workflow based on deadlines.
Key responsibilities
- Review denied insurance claims and patients' medical files
- Develop strategies to reverse claim denials and create written appeals
- Manage and organize appeal workflow according to internal and client-based deadlines
Required qualifications
- 4-year degree or work equivalency required
- Active license as a Physician's Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or equivalent
- Ability to prioritize workload based on strict deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tech-savvy with new software
- High level of reading comprehension and ability to analyze medical information and terminology
