Licensed Associate Counsel Insurance

Job Summary

To provide legal leadership across the full lifecycle of annuity and life insurance products, the Associate Counsel, Annuity & Life Insurance Product will work full-time in either Austin, TX or New York, NY, advising on product design, regulatory compliance, and distribution strategy while mitigating legal risks in complex situations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on the design and development of annuity and life insurance products
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align legal guidance with business objectives

Required qualifications

• Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) and bar admission required
• 7+ years of relevant experience with a law firm, insurance company, or financial services institution
• 5+ years of progressive experience specifically in annuities and life insurance products
• Experience working closely with Distribution, Actuarial, and Product Filing functions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
