Job Summary

To support a growing Medical Management/Health Services team, the full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician will perform clinical reviews and assessments related to mental health and substance abuse, ensuring the appropriateness of care while working remotely within the EST or CST time zones.

Key responsibilities
  • Evaluate members' treatment for mental health and substance abuse to ensure medical appropriateness before, during, and after services
  • Conduct prior authorization reviews and concurrent reviews of behavioral health inpatient care to determine treatment needs and discharge planning
  • Engage with healthcare providers and leadership to improve care quality and efficiency, while providing education on the behavioral health utilization process
Required qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field required for behavioral health clinicians
  • License to practice independently, such as LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, LMHP, or RN state licensure
  • 2-4 years of related experience in mental health and substance abuse
  • Clinical knowledge of treatment plans related to mental health and substance abuse preferred
  • Experience working with healthcare teams to review care services related to mental health and substance abuse preferred
