Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician will perform clinical reviews and assessments related to mental health and substance abuse, ensuring the appropriateness of care and services for members.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate treatment for mental health and substance abuse to ensure medical appropriateness before, during, and after services
- Perform prior authorization and concurrent reviews for behavioral health inpatient services to assess treatment needs and discharge planning
- Provide education to providers, members, and families regarding the behavioral health utilization process and engage with healthcare providers to discuss care levels
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field required
- License to practice independently as a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Professional
- 2 - 4 years of related experience in mental health and substance abuse
- Clinical knowledge of treatment plans related to mental health and substance abuse preferred
- Experience working with healthcare teams to review care services preferred
