Job Summary
To support mental health and substance abuse care, the full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician will perform clinical reviews and assessments, ensuring the appropriateness of care and services while working remotely in specified time zones with a non-traditional schedule that includes weekend shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluates treatment for mental health and substance abuse to ensure medical appropriateness before, during, and after services
- Conducts prior authorization reviews and concurrent reviews of behavioral health inpatient cases to assess treatment needs and discharge planning
- Provides education to providers, members, and families regarding the behavioral health utilization process
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field required
- License to practice independently as an LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, LMHP, or RN required
- 2-4 years of related experience in mental health and substance abuse care preferred
- Clinical knowledge of treatment plans related to mental health and substance abuse preferred
- Experience working with healthcare teams to review care services preferred
