Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician

Job Summary

To support utilization management and quality improvement efforts, the full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician will perform clinical reviews and assessments related to mental health and substance abuse, ensuring the appropriateness of care and services in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluates treatment for mental health and substance abuse to ensure medical appropriateness before, during, and after services
• Conducts prior authorization reviews and concurrent reviews for behavioral health inpatient services
• Provides education to providers and engages with healthcare leadership to improve care quality and efficiency

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field required
• Independent behavioral health licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT) required
• 2-4 years of related experience in mental health settings, particularly outpatient and residential treatment
• Experience in utilization management and presenting to leadership
• Clinical knowledge of treatment plans related to mental health and substance abuse preferred
