Job Summary
To support evidence-based clinical decision-making, the full-time Licensed Clinical Pharmacist will evaluate medication prior authorization requests, collaborate with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate pharmacy and medical benefit prior authorization requests for appropriateness and adherence to clinical criteria
- Assess patient-specific clinical information to ensure medication therapy aligns with current guidelines and best practices
- Collaborate with prescribers to obtain necessary clinical information and provide educational support regarding formulary alternatives
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing
- 2-5 years of pharmacist experience in managed care, specialty pharmacy, or prior authorization review
- Experience reviewing pharmacy benefit and/or medical benefit prior authorizations preferred
- Knowledge of utilization management principles and formulary management processes
