Licensed Clinical Pharmacist

Job Summary

To support evidence-based clinical decision-making, the full-time Licensed Clinical Pharmacist will evaluate medication prior authorization requests, collaborate with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate pharmacy and medical benefit prior authorization requests for appropriateness and adherence to clinical criteria
• Assess patient-specific clinical information to ensure medication therapy aligns with current guidelines and best practices
• Collaborate with prescribers to obtain necessary clinical information and provide educational support regarding formulary alternatives

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing
• 2-5 years of pharmacist experience in managed care, specialty pharmacy, or prior authorization review
• Experience reviewing pharmacy benefit and/or medical benefit prior authorizations preferred
• Knowledge of utilization management principles and formulary management processes
