Licensed Commercial Counsel

Job Summary

To support a growing legal department, a full-time Licensed Commercial Counsel will manage the drafting, negotiation, and review of various commercial contracts, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risk in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate vendor and service partner contracts to align with company standards and risk tolerances
• Conduct commercial and government contract reviews, especially during peak periods from September to January
• Collaborate with the Contract Administration team and support RFP responses to ensure legal accuracy and compliance

Required qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in any US jurisdiction
• JD from a leading law school with strong academic credentials
• 6+ years of in-house business contracting experience
• Preferred certifications include CIPP/US
• Knowledge of ERISA welfare benefit plans and privacy regulations is a plus
