Licensed Commercial Plans Examiner

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the contract Licensed Commercial Plans Examiner will review commercial plan sets for code compliance and produce structured IBC code compliance findings while working remotely on a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Detailed review of plans for code compliance, missing information, and inconsistencies
• Evaluate review comments and markups for accuracy and clarifying compliance rationale
• Provide short-form written clarification of review and compliance rationale

Required Qualifications

• A licensed or credentialed specialist: RA, PE/SE, FPE, CASp, or ICC specialty certification
• 15+ years of experience in commercial construction with robust skills in plans coordination, review, and QA/QC
• OR: ICC Certified Building, Combination, or Fire Plans Examiner or Master Code Professional (or equivalent)
• 10+ years of commercial experience, with 5+ years of commercial plan review at an AHJ or third-party review firm
• Plus: CASp certification or CA/FL code experience (CBC, Title 24, FBC)
