Job Summary
To support the development and maintenance of electrical engineering standards for Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities, a Licensed Electrical Engineer will manage the planning, design, and technical review of electrical systems while working remotely on a full-time basis.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and oversee the design of electrical power, lighting, and electronic systems for correctional facilities
- Review and provide technical approval for electrical designs from contracted firms, ensuring compliance with standards and codes
- Manage the development and maintenance of engineering guidelines and standards, and participate in construction oversight and inspections
Required qualifications
- Current and active Professional Engineer license
- Extensive experience in electrical systems, construction, and facility design
- Knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and federal regulations
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Familiarity with correctional facility operations and standards
