Licensed General Counsel

Job Summary

To build and lead the legal function for a growing direct-to-consumer health technology company, the part-time transitioning to full-time Licensed General Counsel will manage data privacy strategies, negotiate commercial contracts, and provide legal guidance on marketing compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the company's data privacy and data protection strategy, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and partnership contracts
• Provide legal guidance on marketing claims and advertising compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law
• 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in healthtech or direct-to-consumer environments
• Experience with data privacy and consumer data regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA)
• Strong experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Experience advising on marketing claims and advertising compliance
