Licensed General Counsel
Job Summary
To build and lead the legal function for a growing direct-to-consumer health technology company, the part-time Licensed General Counsel will manage data privacy strategies, review commercial agreements, and provide legal guidance on marketing compliance while transitioning to a full-time role.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the company's data privacy and data protection strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and partnership contracts
- Provide legal guidance on marketing claims and advertising compliance, partnering with cross-functional teams
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law
- 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in healthtech or direct-to-consumer environments
- Experience with data privacy regulations such as HIPAA and CCPA/CPRA
- Strong background in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Experience advising on marketing claims and consumer protection law
