Job Summary
Owning a pipeline of applications for the Home Equity Investment product, the full-time Licensed Home Equity Underwriter will make risk assessment decisions, analyze underwriting guidelines, and collaborate with the Processing team and homeowners to facilitate clear and effective file closings.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the underwriting process from initial review to final approval, ensuring quality standards are met through regular QA reviews
- Identify and communicate necessary conditions for each file, ensuring title clarity and addressing any encumbrances
- Conduct thorough appraisal and loan modification reviews to assess impacts on investment decisions and eligibility
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience underwriting residential real estate or home equity products
- Deep understanding of credit reports, property title reports, and appraisal reports
- Strong title curative knowledge with the ability to resolve liens and encumbrances
- Experience with loan processing systems or CRM systems such as Salesforce
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a pipeline
