Licensed Hydrographer/Geophysicist
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Licensed Hydrographer/Geophysicist to process and analyze high-resolution seafloor data remotely, focusing on data quality, client education, and contributing to industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct first-pass analysis of multibeam, sidescan, magnetometer, and sub-bottom profiler data using commercial software
- Create data products and serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding data quality and interpretations
- Collaborate on defining uncertainty and accuracy in ocean data, contributing to government standards and guidelines
Required qualifications
- Experience processing and reporting on at least two of the following: MBES, SSS, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, QGIS, and/or AutoCAD
- Experience writing data reports for commercial clients
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify artifacts in data
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools and approaches
