Licensed In-House General Counsel

Job Summary

To build and lead the legal function for a growing direct-to-consumer health technology company, the part-time Licensed In-House General Counsel will manage data privacy strategies, negotiate commercial agreements, and provide legal guidance on marketing compliance while transitioning to a full-time role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the company's data privacy and data protection strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and partnership contracts
• Provide legal guidance on marketing claims and advertising compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law
• 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in healthtech, digital health, or DTC companies
• Experience with data privacy regulations such as HIPAA and CCPA/CPRA
• Strong background in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Experience advising on marketing claims and advertising compliance in a DTC environment
