Job Summary
To support the underwriting of complex individual life insurance cases, the full-time Licensed Life Underwriter IV will manage high-impact cases, provide expert evaluations, and guide junior underwriters while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite highly complex individual life cases with significant mortality and financial impact
- Review and approve underwriting decisions made by other underwriters, ensuring compliance with company guidelines
- Partner with agents, brokers, and field leadership to communicate underwriting decisions and build strong relationships
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of life underwriting experience with a focus on impaired risks and large case underwriting
- Completion of LOMA 280/281, 290, 311, 386, and ALU 101 & 201 or equivalent knowledge
- Strong technical foundation and ability to make complex underwriting decisions using sound judgment
- High level of independence, accountability, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work remotely with access to high-speed internet and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
