Licensed Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and analytical, the full-time Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will evaluate loan applications, assess financial risk, and make eligibility decisions while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze loan applications by examining financial documents to assess borrowers' repayment ability
• Evaluate financial risk by identifying potential red flags that may indicate loan delinquency
• Make loan eligibility decisions and recommend specific loan terms based on risk assessment

Required qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in underwriting
• Delegations required: VA/SAR; preferred: FHA, VA/SAR, USDA
• Experience with Bond, DPA, and Housing Programs is a plus
• Ability to independently research with agency partners to ensure compliance with guidelines
• Must be located in either the Eastern or Central timezones
