Licensed Mortgage Underwriter III

Job Summary

Managing a pipeline of conventional loans, the full-time Licensed Mortgage Underwriter III will be responsible for underwriting, reviewing loan files for compliance with quality standards, and ensuring timely completion of tasks in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite conventional loans by assessing credit, capacity, and collateral characteristics
• Identify document deficiencies and request additional information from clients as needed
• Assist department personnel in interpreting underwriting guidelines and updating loan statuses

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in the mortgage industry or residential mortgage loan underwriting
• High school diploma required
• Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products and Encompass
• Advanced understanding of regulatory compliance obligations and industry standards
