Job Summary
Supporting the engineering and design of utility transmission and distribution substations, the full-time Licensed Physical Substation Engineer will develop and review substation physical design packages, perform engineering calculations, and coordinate with various engineering disciplines on EPC projects.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and review substation physical design packages, including layouts and material specifications
- Perform engineering calculations related to grounding analysis, conductor sizing, and structure loading
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions
Required qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 4+ years of relevant experience in utility substation physical design with a B.S. degree, or 3+ years with a M.S. degree
- Experience developing substation physical design packages for transmission and distribution substations
- Knowledge of outdoor substation equipment and layouts, including grounding systems and bus configurations
- Familiarity with engineering software and design tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
