Licensed Strategic Underwriting Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Licensed Strategic Underwriting Specialist will manage underwriting pipelines during staff absences, absorb overflow loan volume, and ensure accurate updates to loan files throughout the post-closing process.

Key responsibilities:

• Cover underwriter pipelines during planned and unplanned absences to maintain operational continuity
• Absorb overflow loan volume across multiple teams to meet production targets and service commitments
• Review and update loan files after closing for any necessary changes or outstanding conditions

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of front-line mortgage underwriting experience across all agency product types
• Active DE, SAR, and LAPP certifications
• Experience with Encompass LOS preferred
• Advanced knowledge of agency guidelines and AUS findings (DU/LP)
• Demonstrated proficiency in underwriting Conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA loan products
