Job Summary

A company is looking for a New England Underwriting Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support and counsel related to real estate title insurance commitments and policies
• Analyze recorded documents for ownership accuracy and assess risks that may affect title insurability
• Collaborate with title agents and escrow staff to ensure timely closings and address questions regarding title commitments

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) required; licensed attorney in good standing with 5+ years of title underwriting or related real estate law experience preferred
• Familiarity with real estate law and understanding of title insurance regulations
• General knowledge of the real estate title and settlement process
• Ability to collaborate effectively and act decisively in a team environment
• Strong understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policies
