Job Summary
To support the processing of life insurance claims, the remote Claims Benefits Specialist will secure and analyze claim documentation, make benefit decisions, and provide customer service to beneficiaries and policyholders on a contract basis for a duration of 12 months.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and analyze information related to insured's eligibility for life benefits, identifying discrepancies and securing additional documentation as needed
- Independently make and communicate claim decisions, issuing correct benefits for new and pending claims
- Proactively respond to claim inquiries from insureds, beneficiaries, and internal stakeholders, effectively representing the company in all interactions
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Two years of relevant work experience, preferably in the financial services sector
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and decision-making capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
