Life Insurance Underwriter

Job Summary

Analyzing and evaluating life insurance applications, the full-time remote Life Insurance Underwriter will determine risk classifications and approval decisions based on medical history, occupational hazards, and financial backgrounds while collaborating with sales teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess life insurance applications with face amounts up to $1,000,000 for acceptance or denial
• Gather and interpret necessary information, including medical reports and laboratory studies, to meet underwriting requirements
• Prepare presentations and support contract changes and reinstatement underwriting as needed

Required qualifications

• 2-year College Degree in Finance, Business, or Economics
• 1-2 years of experience in the Life Insurance industry, preferably in sales support or training
• Strong knowledge of life and annuity sales is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
