Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriting Director responsible for managing underwriting production, quality, and leading a team of underwriters.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee underwriting production and manage large life insurance applications
• Make underwriting decisions within approval limits and ensure alignment with business strategies
• Coach and mentor underwriters while participating in process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of life underwriting experience
• College degree required; equivalent work experience may be considered
• FLMI, FALU, and ACS designations or current coursework toward earning certificates
• Extensive experience with large case underwriting, particularly cases over $20,000,000
• Strong knowledge of financial and non-medical underwriting factors
