Life Insurance Underwriting Director

Job Summary

Leading a team of underwriters, the full-time salaried Underwriting Managing Director will support 100% remote work while evaluating insurance applicants, making underwriting decisions, and fostering team development within the Consumer Markets Division.

Key responsibilities

• Complete wing-to-wing underwriting decisions, reviewing upfront data and tools
• Coach and develop Underwriting Consultants and Senior Consultants
• Finalize cases and perform second-sign duties as needed

Required qualifications

• 10 - 12+ years of Life Insurance Underwriting experience with proven proficiency
• 5+ years of team management experience in an Underwriting capacity
• Ability to handle advanced decision-level authorities without co-signature ($15 million or higher)
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Completion of FALU, CLU, FLMI, or other insurance-related coursework preferred
