Life Underwriting Consultant

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring effective risk selection, the full-time Life Underwriting Consultant will evaluate cases with approval authority up to $7,500,000 and collaborate frequently with underwriting, new business, and distribution teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in underwriting tasks and provide mentorship to team members
• Make complex decisions on cases and defend those decisions effectively
• Continuously seek process improvements and apply Lean methodologies to achieve business results

Required qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of 6 years of life or health underwriting experience
• Proficiency in AWD or similar systems, MS Office, risk assessment, and financial analysis
