Life Underwriting Consultant

Job Summary

Supporting life insurance new business processing, the temporary Life Underwriting Consultant will evaluate individual applications in accordance with underwriting guidelines and risk classification standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess individual life insurance applications for completeness and risk acceptability
• Evaluate medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors using approved underwriting manuals and rules
• Document underwriting rationale clearly and consistently in underwriting systems

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of individual life insurance underwriting experience (10+ years preferred)
• Demonstrated experience underwriting medically underwritten life insurance products
• Strong working knowledge of medical impairments, mortality risk, and financial underwriting
• Ability to handle complex medical histories independently
• Experience underwriting whole life and term policies
