Linux Kernel Development Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of Rocky Linux, the remote Linux Kernel Development Engineer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and improve kernel testing and automation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components for products and services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable kernel designs
• Debug and resolve complex kernel-level issues, including memory management and process scheduling

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux kernel development with a focus on system-level programming
• Proficiency in C programming and a deep understanding of Linux kernel internals and device drivers
• Extensive experience in designing and developing Linux kernel components, including process and memory management
• Familiarity with hardware platforms and architectures, including x86 and ARM
