Job Summary
To support the development of Rocky Linux, the remote Linux Kernel Development Engineer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and improve kernel testing and automation processes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components for products and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable kernel designs
- Debug and resolve complex kernel-level issues, including memory management and process scheduling
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux kernel development with a focus on system-level programming
- Proficiency in C programming and a deep understanding of Linux kernel internals and device drivers
- Extensive experience in designing and developing Linux kernel components, including process and memory management
- Familiarity with hardware platforms and architectures, including x86 and ARM
