Job Summary
Supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the full-time remote Linux Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer will install, configure, and maintain various enterprise Linux operating systems while ensuring system security and availability.
Key responsibilities
- Install and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Linux distributions, ensuring compliance with security requirements
- Perform lifecycle management of Linux servers and support enterprise cybersecurity platforms
- Automate system administration tasks and manage user accounts, authentication services, and system performance
Required qualifications
- Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain one
- B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration and systems engineering
- Experience with enterprise Linux environments and cybersecurity infrastructure
- Preferred certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC-2, LPIC-3, or Linux+
