Linux Vulnerability Remediation Engineer

Job Summary

Owning end-to-end vulnerability remediation for Linux servers, the full-time Linux Vulnerability Remediation Engineer will manage patching, configuration hardening, and automation efforts in a remote capacity while ensuring compliance with audit expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute vulnerability remediation and patch management for RHEL 7/8/9 servers, including triaging findings and developing actionable plans
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Chef, Ansible, and scripting languages to streamline remediation processes
• Validate remediation effectiveness and maintain documentation to support audit and compliance needs while coordinating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• 6-10 years of strong hands-on experience with RHEL 7/8/9/10 in enterprise environments
• Proven experience in vulnerability remediation and patch management for Linux servers
• Expertise with Qualys or equivalent vulnerability scanners
• Automation experience with Chef and/or Ansible in production settings
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and working proficiency in Ruby
