Litigation Counsel Member

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Litigation Counsel to manage litigation, conduct research, and provide general advice and counsel relating to pre-litigation and litigation matters involving mortgage servicing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage litigation, conduct research, and draft memoranda
• Retain and manage outside counsel, review invoices, and oversee in-house paralegals
• Review settlement offers, develop strategies, and assist in drafting responses

Required Qualifications:

• Law degree from an accredited law school
• At least four years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, with one year relating to mortgage servicing issues
• Previous experience with GNMA, FHA, USDA, VA, and/or reverse mortgage preferred
• In-house and law firm experience preferred
• Experience managing outside counsel costs and litigation budgets preferred
