Livestock Certification Supervisor

Job Summary

Managing a team of Certification Specialists, the full-time Livestock Certification Supervisor will oversee the implementation of USDA National Organic Program standards and OPT Grass-Fed certification, ensuring consistent application and effective communication of regulations in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure consistent implementation of USDA NOP standards and OPT Grass-Fed regulations for livestock certification
• Train and mentor certification staff to provide high-quality technical and customer services to livestock clients
• Monitor updates related to livestock certification and oversee the OPT Grass-Fed Program activities

Required qualifications

• Five years of experience as a CCOF Certification Specialist or equivalent in a similar role
• Understanding of organic livestock standards and familiarity with USDA NOP regulations
• B.A. or B.S. degree in an applicable field such as environmental science or agriculture, or at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently within established procedures
• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and relevant database applications
