Livestock Underwriter

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and motivated, the remote Livestock Underwriter will underwrite, administer, and service livestock insurance policies in compliance with federal programs while providing technical expertise and support to agents and insureds.

Key responsibilities

• Review and underwrite livestock insurance applications, policy changes, and endorsements in accordance with RMA policy provisions and procedures
• Evaluate eligibility, insurable interest, and coverage elections for various livestock insurance programs
• Document underwriting decisions and maintain audit-ready files consistent with record retention standards

Required qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in underwriting, insurance processing, or agriculture
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
• Crop/Livestock insurance experience is preferred but not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information clearly
