Loss Mitigation Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Loss Mitigation Underwriter I, responsible for managing loan modification workups and ensuring compliance with banking policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit loan modification workups and understand investor's waterfall and required documents for loss mitigation
• Communicate with customers and negotiate short sale settlement offers while managing an account portfolio
• Review financial documents and determine suitable repayment options for customers

Required Qualifications

• A combined 3 years of higher education and/or experience, including at least 1 year in collections or underwriting
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
• Experience in mortgage collections is preferred
• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification is preferred
• Knowledge of relevant systems and compliance standards
