Job Summary

Supporting Louisiana's mental health and substance abuse services, the remote Louisiana Licensed Care Manager will authorize and review utilization of care, assist with discharge planning, and provide member assistance while collaborating with clinical teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Monitors inpatient and outpatient services to ensure medical necessity and effectiveness
  • Conducts telephone triage, crisis intervention, and emergency authorizations as needed
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of discharge plans in collaboration with providers and facilities
Required qualifications
  • Current Louisiana licensure as CEAP, LMSW, LCSW, LSW, LPC, or RN
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-degree experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance abuse settings
  • Knowledge of utilization management procedures and community resources related to mental health and substance abuse
  • Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient care settings
  • Familiarity with DSM V or the most current diagnostic edition
