Job Summary
To support Medicare Advantage initiatives, the full-time Louisiana Licensed Medical Director will review treatment procedures, provide direction for utilization activities, and facilitate physician committees while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews and provides medical expertise on utilization, case, and disease management activities
- Participates in internal operations related to quality assurance and accreditation efforts
- Conducts peer reviews and consultations regarding prior authorization and medical necessity determinations
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in Louisiana
- 7 years of clinical practice experience required, with 3 years of direct patient care
- Experience in utilization, case, or disease management preferred
- Board certification in a specialty recognized by ABMS required
