Job Summary
To support a growing medical coding team, the full-time Louisiana Licensed Physician Coder specializing in Transplant Surgery will review and accurately code professional services, including surgeries and evaluations, while ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer guidelines in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Review and accurately code profee Transplant Surgery cases to maximize reimbursement
- Code E/M visits, office procedures, and surgeries while meeting daily production and quality goals
- Communicate with leadership regarding coding documentation issues and stay current on coding guidelines
Required qualifications
- High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Active certification from an AHIMA or AAPC-certified program (e.g., CCS-P, CPC) with a minimum of 5 years of physician coding experience in Transplant Surgery
- Proficient knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, and Medicare/Medicaid billing policies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic healthcare record systems
- Experience with remote work and familiarity with coding audits and billing denials is a plus
