Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time Louisiana Licensed Physician Coder will review and accurately code professional services in a remote setting, ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer guidelines while achieving daily production and quality goals.
Key responsibilities
- Review and accurately code profee cases and E/M visits to maximize reimbursement
- Communicate with leadership regarding coding or documentation issues and trends
- Stay current on coding guidelines and maintain necessary credentials
Required qualifications
- High School diploma required; Associate or BS degree preferred
- Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-certified program with an active credential (e.g., CCS-P, CPC)
- Minimum of 5 years of recent physician coding experience with E/M leveling and bedside procedures
- Proficient knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10-CM coding, and Medicare/Medicaid billing policies
- Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic healthcare record systems; Google Workspace experience is preferred
