Lumber Trader

Job Summary

Seeking a Full-Cycle Lumber Trader who will manage the entire trading cycle, from sourcing and selling lumber to developing strong relationships with mills and customers, in a remote environment with a base salary draw plus uncapped monthly commission.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full trading cycle by sourcing lumber from mills and selling to various customers
• Develop and maintain relationships with pine mills and suppliers while expanding existing customer accounts
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and volume to maximize profitability while monitoring market conditions

Required qualifications

• Experience in lumber trading, sales, or wholesale building materials
• Strong preference for candidates with Southern Yellow Pine or dimensional lumber experience
• Proven relationships with lumber mills and wholesale customers
• Understanding of lumber markets, pricing, inventory, and margins
• 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred, with flexibility for candidates with the right market knowledge and track record
