Maine Family Support Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Family Support Specialist who will provide support to families with youth involved in behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support and assistance to families with youth in the Children's Behavioral Health Home
• Participate in service meetings and community groups to enhance parent involvement
• Act as a "values speaker" to improve family-professional partnerships within agencies

Required Qualifications and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be a family member of a person with complex emotional or medical needs
• Completion of a designated Maine Office of Child and Family Services curriculum for peer supports or willingness to complete certification upon hire
• Familiarity with the Children's Behavioral Health Home and strengths-based approaches
• Must pass a criminal background check and have a good driving record
