Mainframe Application Developer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time temporary basis, the Mainframe Application Developer will design, develop, test, and support enhancements to existing mainframe applications using COBOL, Natural, JCL, and databases such as ADABAS and DB2 while collaborating in Agile teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and produce technical designs for moderate to complex changes
• Develop and maintain programs, author and troubleshoot JCL, and perform testing
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide production support in a rotational on-call model

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in COBOL and Natural maintenance and development
• Strong working knowledge of JCL for batch processes and troubleshooting
• Experience with ADABAS and DB2, including queries and data analysis
• Familiarity with Oracle concepts and SQL tooling, such as PL/SQL Developer
