Mainframe Application Developer
Job Summary
To support legacy modernization initiatives, the remote Mainframe Application Developer will analyze, develop, and maintain COBOL-DB2-CICS applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize existing mainframe systems.
Key responsibilities
- Perform code screening and analysis of existing mainframe applications to identify optimization opportunities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-DB2-CICS based applications while managing JCL jobs for batch processing
- Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with teams to support integrations with distributed systems and APIs
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and CICS
- Strong experience in batch processing and production support environments
- Proficiency with enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M
- Experience with Mainframe debugging and analysis tools like Xpediter and Abend-AID
- Familiarity with Agile and SDLC-driven environments
