Mainframe DB2 DBA
Job Summary
To support the backbone of technological infrastructure, the full-time remote Mainframe DB2 DBA will manage and administer database management systems, optimize performance, and implement security protocols while collaborating with various teams to ensure scalability and reliability.
Key responsibilities:
- Optimize and maintain database management systems, ensuring peak performance and security
- Conduct capacity planning and collaborate on systematic database project plans aligned with organizational goals
- Develop backup and recovery plans, providing support for end users and application developers in resolving complex database issues
Required qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience with DB2 V12 and V13 on the z/OS platform
- Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), database performance tuning, and executing Database Definition Language (DDL)
- Experience with DB2 database backup and recovery processes
- Familiarity with Change, Incident, Problem, Availability, Service Level, and Capacity Management processes
- Willingness to provide rotational 24 x 7 On Call support for the production environment
