Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Engineer to support a major modernization effort focused on decoupling a legacy DB2 database and refactoring associated COBOL programs.

Key Responsibilities

Decouple a large-scale legacy DB2 database and refactor COBOL programs
Transition to new data sources while maintaining business-critical functionality
Modernize COBOL programs to retrieve and process data from various new architectures

Required Qualifications

Strong command of COBOL programming, including reading, modifying, and testing
Experience with JCL in mainframe environments for job execution and batch processing
Familiarity with IBM MQ for message queue integration
Deep understanding of DB2 access methods on mainframes
Experience with API specifications and data mapping to source/target structures
