Mainframe Engineer
Job Summary
Joining a dynamic team, the remote Mainframe Engineer will lead development efforts, mentor junior teammates, and manage end-to-end SDLC responsibilities while contributing to modernization initiatives in a collaborative Agile environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online CICS processing
- Optimize and support DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures, ensuring performance and compliance
- Collaborate in Agile squads, estimate tasks, and deliver value incrementally while mentoring junior developers
Required qualifications
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe development
- Strong expertise in COBOL, Batch JCL, CICS, DB2, and MQ
- Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures
- Experience with IBM MQ messaging and enterprise job scheduling
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring or coaching junior developers
